<p style="text-align: center;"><img src="//www.chinamining.com/image.php/shop/data/upload/media/plantform/1b85581d0acec82bd51f952dec7078f0/image/20190505/1557129300248127.jpg" title="1557129300248127.jpg" alt="595x 370 20190506.jpg"/></p><p><br/></p><p>The Ministry of Coal of India has set a production target of 655 million tons for the current fiscal year (April 2019-March 2020) for Coal India Limited(CIL),an increase of 7.23% over the actual production of 607 million tons in fiscal year 2018-2019.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>CIL&#39;s production and sales target for fiscal year 2018-19 is 610 million tons, while the government&#39;s production target for the current fiscal year is only 5 million tons higher than the previous fiscal year.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>At the beginning of each fiscal year, the Indian government signs an agreement with CIL on the planned coal demand of power plants and other industries such as steel and cement, namely the Memorandum of understanding (MoU),) as CIL&#39;s production target.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>CIL sources said that in view of the increase in production last year, the Ministry of Coal hopes that the CIL to maintain the production growth trend.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Although growth in production at Mahanadi Coalfield Ltd (MCL), a subsidiary of CIL, continues to be constrained by issues such as labour, local villagers and environmental permits, but production at other subsidiaries has reached record highs.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In the last fiscal year, its subsidiary, Northern Coalfield Ltd (NCL), produced more than 100m tons of , making it the third largest subsidiary after South Eastern Coalfields Limited(SECL) and MCL. On the other hand, SECL produced more than 150 million tons, making it the largest subsidiary in India, while both Eastern Coalfield Ltd and Western Coalfield Ltd produced 50 million tons.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>CIL officials said production nearly tripled in fiscal year 2018-19 from 2.33% in the previous fiscal year.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Officials believe that the commissioning of three important railways this year will increase the shipping capacity of CIL, thereby solving the problem of overstocking at the mouth of the coal mine. Once the three railways are fully operational, CIL will increase its shipping capacity by 100 million tons.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In addition, with the increasing mechanization of coal production, CIL produced 3.14 million tons a day in March and 79.19 million tons a month, the highest monthly output since its inception.</p><p><br/></p>
