On the morning of July 13, the 2026 graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony of the China Coal Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the China Coal Research Institute) was held in Beijing.

Fan Shaogang, deputy secretary of the party committee, director and general manager of the group company, president of the General Institute of CCTEG and Technology, and chairman of the Degree Evaluation Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Kang Hongpu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice chairman of the Degree Evaluation Committee, and Wang Guofa attended the meeting. Leaders of the General Institute of CCTEG and Technology, leaders in charge of training units, tutor representatives, all graduates, and outstanding students gathered together to witness this solemn moment. The graduation ceremony was hosted by Ding Lei, deputy dean of the Graduate School of the General Institute of CCTEG and Technology.

The graduation ceremony kicked off with the majestic national anthem. Gao Lu, director of the Organization Department (Human Resources Department) of the Party Committee of the Group Company and deputy director of the General Institute of CCTEG and Technology, read out the list of outstanding graduates and outstanding current students of the General Institute of CCTEG and Technology in 2026, and a commendation ceremony was held on site. ‍

Wang Haijun, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director and General Manager of the CCTEG Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Executive Vice President of the CCTEG Research Institute, announced the decision of the CCTEG Research Institute to award 15 people with doctorate degrees and 51 people with master's degrees in 2026. Degree certificates were awarded to the graduates on site. Academician Kang Hongpu crowned the graduates one by one and took photos with each graduate.

Liu Xuan, a master's student from Xi'an Research Institute, spoke as a representative of the graduates. He shared his growth process and gains from taking root in the frontline of scientific research and deeply participating in major scientific research tasks in the General Institute of CCTEG and Technology over the past three years. Li Haitao, dean and doctoral supervisor of the Deep Earth Research Institute of the Institute of Coal General Studies, spoke as a representative of the tutors. He based on the background of China's coal science research and the mission of the industry, combined with the in-depth research and achievements of academicians and predecessors to inspire all graduates. His words were sincere and far-reaching, and he vividly conveyed the spirit of coal science that is truth-seeking, pragmatic, and responsible for serving the country.

Combining more than 40 years of experience in coal scientific research, focusing on the unique educational achievements of graduate students of the General Institute of CCTEG and closely following the development trend of the energy industry, the Royal Court of Justice expressed his sincere entrustment to the graduates from three aspects: "Standing the original intention with deep cultivation, undertaking the mission with innovation, and establishing the career with hard work", and called on the young students to take root in the front line, engage in scientific research, and bravely shoulder the mission of the times to ensure national energy security.

Fan Shaogang delivered a speech titled "Take root in the hot land of coal science and bravely embark on a new journey of energy", and put forward three ardent expectations for the students who are about to embark on a new journey: First, stick to the original intention of politics and anchor the course of serving the country. Deeply study and earnestly implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, closely adhere to the fundamental task of building moral character and cultivating people, bear in mind the "big man of the country", integrate personal ideals into the great cause of building an energy power, and bravely shoulder the mission of the times with firm political beliefs. The second is to persist in lifelong learning and hone excellent skills. Always maintain a passion for lifelong learning, proactively adapt to the changing trends of artificial intelligence and the energy industry, take root in the front line and hone their skills, and strive to become innovative talents who help coal science and technology become self-reliant. The third is to adhere to Haoran's righteousness and always maintain a realistic background. We always adhere to the scientific spirit of seeking truth from facts and adhere to the triple bottom line of academic, industry and career. Cultivate the character of integrity, pragmatism and dedication, bravely overcome difficulties in energy scientific research, and write the answer to the struggle of youth with hard work and responsibility.
