According to the latest statistics from the Shaanxi Provincial Coal Industry Association, coal output across the province totaled 537.956 million tonnes by the end of August, up 3.8% year on year. Coal stocks stood at 2.523 million tonnes.

In August, the province produced 62.2082 million tonnes of coal. Of this, raw coal output from key state-owned coal enterprises — Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group, Shaanxi Investment Group and the Shendong mines in Shaanxi — reached 30.3405 million tonnes, accounting for 48.7% of the province's total coal output.

At the end of August, the province's composite coal price stood at 752 yuan per tonne, up 93 yuan per tonne or 14.1% from the previous month, and up 242 yuan per tonne or 47.4% year on year.

At the end of August, prices of all 14 representative coal specifications in the province rose across the board from the previous month, with an average gain of 80.0 yuan per tonne, or 11.9%. Compared with the same period last year, prices also continued to rise across the board, up an average of 226.7 yuan per tonne, or 43.3%.
