New breakthrough! Chongqing Research Institute realizes advanced detection of water hazards in 849 meter underground boreholes 2025-04-30 10:46:41.0
Recently, Chongqing Research Institute's independently developed mining drilling transient electromagnetic technology and equipment have made significant breakthroughs in Longwanggou Coal Mine in Ordos, successfully achieving precise exploration of long-distance water hazards in 849 meter directional drilling holes, marking the maturity of the "long excavation and long exploration" technology for hidden water hazards underground in coal mines, and building a solid technical defense line for efficient and safe mining of coal mines.

In response to the industry challenges of short single detection distance, weak anti-interference ability, and occupation of excavation operation time in conventional geophysical exploration, Chongqing Research Institute has innovatively developed YCS6.4 mining drilling transient electromagnetic detection technology and equipment for drilling collaboration. This equipment pushes the probe to the target formation through the drilling rig, synchronously completing the measurement of drilling trajectory and the acquisition of transient electromagnetic three component data. It has the advantages of high detection accuracy, strong anti-interference ability, and high construction efficiency, and can achieve precise exploration of hidden water hazards within a range of 30m from the drilling hole diameter.
This technology and equipment have been successfully applied in the kilometer directional drilling of Longwanggou Coal Mine, accurately delineating the water rich abnormal area, providing strong geological basis for coal mine water hazard prevention and effectively reducing the risk of water hazard accidents. In the future, Chongqing Research Institute will focus on tackling the fusion detection technology of multiple physical fields in boreholes, providing full time domain geological support for intelligent excavation equipment.
