2026-09-28 11:03:38.0

In this round, CCTD Bohai Rim thermal coal spot reference prices for 5500K, 5000K and 4500K specifications closed at 977, 882 and 798 yuan per tonne respectively, with changes of -1, 0 and 0 yuan per tonne from the previous period. For CCTD prices at major production areas (non-power coal varieties), northern Shanxi 5500K, Yulin 5800K and Ordos 5500K closed at 825, 885 and 800 yuan per tonne, with changes of 0, +10 and +5 yuan per tonne respectively.

CCTD commentary: [Port market] Influenced by expectations of pre-holiday restocking and rising prices at production areas, sellers' willingness to cut prices and move cargoes has clearly weakened and sentiment for holding prices is heating up. However, end users are mostly active in lifting long-term contract coal, demand for prompt spot cargoes is weak, and their price acceptance is low, which has exerted some downward pressure on the market.

[Production area market] Yulin continued its upward trend, with some non-power end users purchasing actively to restock ahead of the holiday, and supported by higher auction prices at major mines, market trading activity continued to increase. Ordos was steady with an upward bias; adjustments to external purchase prices had little impact on the market, sales at mines with cost-performance advantages kept improving, and some mines posted consecutive small price increases, though sales at many others remained mediocre, with a markedly weaker willingness to cut prices and a growing tendency to follow the upward trend. Prices in northern Shanxi were weakly stable, with long-term contract transactions dominating; supply and demand for market coal were both weak, auction prices at a few mines eased slightly, and most mines kept prices unchanged.
